MY APPROACH

PHOTO-2025-07-29-11-45-41_edited.png

I believe that everybody's life experience matters and that everyone deserves to be heard. I provide an anti-discriminatory service and welcome all people to my practice.

My approach is hopeful, driven by a belief in our capacity for change. I'm curious about what obstructs us from and enables us to make decisions, express ourselves and take responsibility. Life is seen as inherently challenging and we work to discover the possibilities within the limited and difficult situations we face.

My way of working, which is informed by philosophy, wonders about your unique experience of living and the core beliefs that inform you. We explore past, present and future to make sense of what's going on for you now.

My role is to support you in greater self-understanding. I do not diagnose, cure, fix or advise, but instead work to understand given I see many of the anxieties we face as natural responses to the strange business of being human. I provide a space for dialogue out of which new things may be discovered.

The formal terminology for my approach is

existential-phenomenological, with an integrative element.

Phenomenology involves exploring a person's subjective human experience of living in the world, whilst the integrative approach draws on varying modalities of psychotherapy to suit each unique client. I am particularly informed by the psychodynamic belief that our early experiences shape our present realities.

WHAT I OFFER

Therapy offers something unique: a space in your life that is just yours, where you can bring the unsayable and explore who you are. We slow things down and open them up, so you can reflect on and reframe your experiences and grow your self-awareness.

Through our live relationship, I can shed light on how you relate to others, challenge you to look at things afresh, illuminate unrecognised parts of you, support you in making sense of your struggle and really listen. Here you may process your past, find clarity in your present, and explore new possibilities for your future.
